Weekday Update:

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

One of these days I’m going to have to get me a job. Seriously though I NEED work, its beyond the relaxing phase. I’m almost caught up on all of my backlogged tv shows, and my tan is coming along nicely. I would have laid out today since the sun is out and it’s beautiful again, but the wind is blowing something fierce. I love a nice breeze but this is seriously almost putting a chill in the air. Day Four:

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

So here we are, day four of being snowed in. Actually it hasn’t been THAT bad, but of course we’ve managed to keep semi-busy enough to skate the boredom. Yesterday and today Billy and I escaped during the day to get some lunch and to pick up some stuff from the store. Today we also went out further and picked up Andy from his house to save him from his boredom. Once the sun goes down we’re still stuck inside though. Gwinnett County decided earlier to close our road at the entrance to our neighborhood because of all the ice and to keep through traffic on the highway. So we now can only turn left out of the neighborhood and attempt to climb the hill rather than go the other way; lucky us!

Right now I’m half-watching them play Super Mario Bros. on the Wii, and half-listening to Pandora. Oh well I guess I’m full on blogging on top of all that, but it was kind of obvious. I should be doing laundry since the hamper is full, but I really don’t want to. Who does want to laundry though? It’s not the sorting or doing the laundry I hate, it’s the hanging up of clothes that sucks.

Plum & BaileyI found my old digital camera yesterday. I wanted to love that camera so much. It was a very expensive slim Sony CyberShot camera, but it takes some of the worst pictures I’ve ever seen. I took the memory stick (seriously Sony, fail on not using SD) out and plugged it in and found some old pictures. They’re all bad quality, but it’s funny seeing me with long hair, and Bailey as a little kitten. I discovered that I could use the camera connection kit for my iPad to plug in a USB card reader with the memory stick to upload the pictures. Ghetto to need so many things in a daisy-chain to make it work, but neat that it does actually work.

WordPress updated their iOS app the other day, and it seems to be more stable, although the keyboard still lags on my iPad while typing. I’ve quit all the other apps (except Pandora & AIM) so it shouldn’t be low on memory. It’s getting a bit annoying typing so I think I’m going to run for now. Stay warm y’all!

Bugs

Monday, August 30th, 2010

The iPad WordPress app is quite handy (as you’ve undoubtedly noticed I use it quite frequently). Unfortunately it has some bugs in it. The biggest of which for me is that it crashes every time I attempt to add an image to a post. However the iPhone app doesn’t. So usually what happens is I’ll type out a post on my iPad, save it on the server as a draft, and then open it on my phone to insert the image. Can we say pain in the ass? Never the less I still absolutely love my iPad! I really love the wallpaper I have for it (same as my phone). I only wish I could remember where I found it at. Oh well maybe one day I’ll remember.

So far the project with the hinges is progressing. Once we get a system going it will be faster (I hope). Billy bought me a present at Home Depot today, a door stop! I know what you’re thinking but I really did want it. It’s one of the magnetic ones that holds the door open. Now the cats can’t close the door in the bathroom.

We got our hair done this afternoon. Nothing special just a cut and style, but it’s always nice to see John. The other girl was there doing some girls hair and they were having the most awkward and hilarious conversation the entire time. They were making fun of all their old friends from high school and how fucked up they’ve all become. The best part though was when the stylist asked the other girl “Do you remember when I was pregnant in high school and got that abortion?” Such an odd topic to bring up in mixed company.

Anyway our day has been fairly tame today so I don’t have much to report. Billy is playing Grand Theft Auto while the paint on the hinges dries and I took this opportunity to do a short update. See you guys later!

Grand Theft Billy

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Ever since beating Super Mario Bros. on the Wii, Billy has been digging through my video games looking for something else to conquer. Never did I think he’d pick Grand Theft Auto. It’s cute how he was hell bent on playing the game without using cheat codes, and as soon as I left the room when he was having trouble with a mission he miraculously beat it. Closer inspection reveals cheats now listed in his virtual cellphone.

After praising myself so well in my last post I’ve already slipped. We stayed out way too late last night at a bar that was way too busy. Ended up standing up all night and my legs just couldn’t bear the treadmill today. I guess its good to have a day of rest too. I’ll be back on it first thing in the morning though! I’ve gotta work on that hot body!

Speaking of last night, it was crazy busy. We went out with a few friends and waded through the crowds of people and the ear splitting dance music. At one point everyone except Billy and I was on the dancefloor. I was far too sober to even attempt dancing. I know where my abilities are, and it certainly isn’t there. It was fun though, even though I had to pee the entire time (which is why I wasn’t drinking). Gay bar/club bathrooms scare the hell out of me!

Billy and I are starting a medium sized home project. Since remodeling the bathroom, and working on our bedroom we are slowly getting all the fit and finish done. All of the chrome and brass in the house will eventually go away and be replaced with oil-rubbed bronze. The door knobs are mainly what is left, and at $25 each and needing 30 of them it’s a slow process. To add insult to injury the door hinges are $3 each and needing three per door adds even more to the equation. Now I’m not going to cheap out on the knobs but as for the hinges, we bought some “Oil-rubbed bronze” spray paint. So we shall see how this turns out. Since they don’t get touched or rub on anything it “should” hold up fine. We already know the color matches really well.

I upgraded my version of MarsEdit on my laptop to the newest version and It’s much improved. I highly suggest it as a blogging tool for mac users and word-press users. It supposedly integrates with iPhoto now, we shall see.

I feel slightly guilty for playing music in the background. It’s turned down so low I can’t even hear it. I’m just trying to run up my play counts on last.fm ha ha. I’m such a dork! Oh and click the link, it’ll take you to my profile where you can friend me (hint hint).

Well, I’ve babbled enough for now. Its time for a snack! I think i’m going to get a nutri-grain bar…

Blake's on the ParkI’m still currently sick, which sucks. I do feel somewhat better though. Like most colds it just takes a little OTC medicine (maybe a good does of pseudo-ephedrine in there too) and just a few days of waiting. Even though I have been sick, I went out last night with Billy, Andy, and Joey to Blake’s. It was a lot of fun and there were q good amount of people there. I’m glad I went, plus if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have ended up with this really cool picture. There wasn’t any editing done, the red filtered lights at the bar and the front facing iPhone 4 camera (i’m sure the low light along with the fact that its VGA played a big part in it). Never the less I think it came out pretty cool!

I’ve spent the better part of the last two days (or so) going back through all my old blog posts cleaning up. I didn’t delete them or anything, but a lot of them had broken links or pictures. I was able to fix most of the pictures, and the ones I couldn’t I removed the image tags out so it wouldn’t display a broken link. I had great hopes of being able to find all the appropriate pictures but alas some are just gone into oblivion. It’s one of the unfortunate consequences of changing web hosts, that and my unwillingness to embrace WordPress’ own gallery function. I’ve since come to terms that using plugins for other types of galleries is just a botch job that never works fluidly. I haven’t decided if I want to change the way I have my photography gallery or not yet though. I still have it hosted through Picasa. I do however like how the built in gallery plays nice with lightbox and it just works for imbedding into posts.

Oh, I’m really big into Last.fm (my profile) so add me as a friend on there please! If you’ve never tried it it’s similar to Pandora only better. It gathers data on the music you listen to in iTunes, on your iPod/iPhone/iPad and makes suggestions for music you would like based on what you listen to. Give it a try!

Interior Trim PiecesI was lucky enough earlier this week to come across someone on an online forum that had a question about their Nissan Altima Coupe. They had a new 2010 model fully loaded with black interior and silver trim. They wanted to know if all the black trim pieces that show up on ebay from wrecked 2008+ models would work or not (which they will) and I told him so. So he sold me some of his silver trim pieces (that I like better) for $25. New it would have cost me over $130; SCORE! I bring this up because FedEx just showed up a little bit ago with my package!

Ok I better bug out, the more I talk the less you’ll read =)

Sicky-icky

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

So last night I felt a tickle in my throat but nothing too telling. I figured I could sleep it off and I’d feel great this morning, no such luck. So far it seems to be a mild cold so hopefully it’ll stay that way. Right now my nose is runny and my throat is swollen, I got some over-the-counter pills at the grocery store today so I’m hoping that will keep me afloat for a while.

Speaking of the grocery store, I take my mom every Wednesday, it’s our little weekly adventure. We’ve even started including it on Twitter as a game. When I check-in on foursquare I always ask for everyone to guess our total, and then post the results when we check out. This week was a whopping $255.83 at Publix, granted just shopping at Publix adds to the bill.

Andy and Billy are playing Super Mario Bros on the Wii, so I figured WordPress could occupy some of my free time. Speaking of, the WordPress for iPad app (what I’m using) needs a couple of bugs squashed. Sometimes the fields will overlap when the screen rotates and it’ll become permanently stuck that way. Also a good portion of the time when you attempt to attach a picture to a blog post the app just crashes, which is a major headache.

I’ve been craving some Sour Patch Kids (watermelon) candy the last few days, and they actually had a bad at Publix today. It satisfied my craving but they aren’t as good as they normally are since I’m sick. =(

New HaircutOh, I had all my hair cut off the other day! I totally forgot to mention that. The long hair was nice but it wasn’t functional this time of the year. I have to flat iron it everyday, and the first drop of sweat and it will start to curl and look awful. Plus with as hot as it’s been lately I could only keep it looking good for maybe an hour at most, so it just had to go. We’ve been a lot more social with our new friends than we are use to (and I’m so thankful for it) that I just had to lop it all off. Let’s see if I can get a picture attached to this post without the app crashing. Oh and this was taken with the front facing camera on my iPhone 4; shameless plug I know but I LOVE my new iPhone.
