Three Down, One to Go.

Friday, March 25th, 2011

It’s the end of the work week for most people, for me it’s just another day. A day full of laundry that is. I can’t complain though since I actually almost enjoy it. Sad hearing myself say that ya know? I think it’s just spending time with myself being productive that I enjoy. Plus I love these high efficiency machines. Right now I’m done with two loads, the third is in the dryer, and the last just finished in the washing machine. Almost there! (more…)

Day Four:

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

So here we are, day four of being snowed in. Actually it hasn’t been THAT bad, but of course we’ve managed to keep semi-busy enough to skate the boredom. Yesterday and today Billy and I escaped during the day to get some lunch and to pick up some stuff from the store. Today we also went out further and picked up Andy from his house to save him from his boredom. Once the sun goes down we’re still stuck inside though. Gwinnett County decided earlier to close our road at the entrance to our neighborhood because of all the ice and to keep through traffic on the highway. So we now can only turn left out of the neighborhood and attempt to climb the hill rather than go the other way; lucky us!

Right now I’m half-watching them play Super Mario Bros. on the Wii, and half-listening to Pandora. Oh well I guess I’m full on blogging on top of all that, but it was kind of obvious. I should be doing laundry since the hamper is full, but I really don’t want to. Who does want to laundry though? It’s not the sorting or doing the laundry I hate, it’s the hanging up of clothes that sucks.

Plum & BaileyI found my old digital camera yesterday. I wanted to love that camera so much. It was a very expensive slim Sony CyberShot camera, but it takes some of the worst pictures I’ve ever seen. I took the memory stick (seriously Sony, fail on not using SD) out and plugged it in and found some old pictures. They’re all bad quality, but it’s funny seeing me with long hair, and Bailey as a little kitten. I discovered that I could use the camera connection kit for my iPad to plug in a USB card reader with the memory stick to upload the pictures. Ghetto to need so many things in a daisy-chain to make it work, but neat that it does actually work.

WordPress updated their iOS app the other day, and it seems to be more stable, although the keyboard still lags on my iPad while typing. I’ve quit all the other apps (except Pandora & AIM) so it shouldn’t be low on memory. It’s getting a bit annoying typing so I think I’m going to run for now. Stay warm y’all!

Football

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

I honestly don’t know why I am sitting downstairs with my parents watching football on tv. This has to be the most boring shit ever broadcast on television, well next to golf that is. They just finished playing one game and as soon as it ended they start showing the next one. It’s pure madness I tell you!

Truthfully though I find most sports boring. It may be a gay thing, or it may just be the fact I’ve never been good at any sport. Although I do love ice hockey, not on tv, but in person. I really need to get some tickets to see a game. The arena is less than three miles from our house so its very convenient.

Does anyone else hate Adam Sandler & Will Farrell? They are so annoying! Sorry, I saw a commercial for an Adam Sandler movie. Oh and the random fact of the day is that woodchucks are actually just groundhogs.

Oh, I’m being called away ton play Yahtzee with my mom. Guess that’s my cue to run. Later y’all!

Fall is here

Friday, October 1st, 2010

The weather started out pretty bleak this week. It was mostly rain and cloudy but surprisingly it has turned into some beautiful sunny cool weather. Fall is finally here and no more blazing heat! It has been so nice in fact that I’ve had the air turned off the last few days and had the windows open. All the kitties have enjoyed that but especially Loki. It warms my heart seeing something so simple make him so happy.

All day we had black helicopters circling around the house. I’m curious as to what they were looking for, or whom. Maybe it wasn’t anything too freaky. Speaking of, I hear sirens outside now. Someone isn’t having a good night. Oh and they’ve started repaving our neighborhood, which is great. Unfortunately it seems they are repaving every street except ours.

Plum has been rather cheerful too. He’s spent the past few days out from under the bed enjoying the breeze. Right now he’s laying on Billy’s pillow, which could very well explain why I wake up with fur in my mouth sometimes. Now I wish Bailey would warm up to the world in general. We’ve had him for a year now and he still hides under the bed at the faintest noise.

Oh and I have some great news to report; I’ve made a new friend! Now ordinarily I wouldn’t bring this up as none of you will probably care, but this is actually neat. At a party several weeks ago Billy and I met a guy and his boyfriend and we chatted a little. Later on he added me to facebook and Twitter. Now through the miracle of foursquare he noticed when I checked in at home that I lived less than a mile away. We’ve lived next to each other for almost 13 years and never knew it. Quite ironic and neat at the same time! Well I thought it was cool anyway…

Oh well I have a lot of TV to catch up on, I’ll catch you guys later!

Halloween

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

I know I’m almost two months early talking about Halloween, but I had a thought earlier that brought back repressed memories. All of my friends (and some family) have always found it odd that as long as they’ve known me (or can remember) I’ve always hated Halloween with a passion. I never really understood why myself, and as an almost teenager my friends thought it was weird that I’d pass up the chance for all this free candy. As a spoiled only-child though, I got all the candy that I ever wanted anyway, and I got to pick good stuff!

Slight segue here, I’m supposed to attend a themed party tonight and any type of themed party always discourages me from going. I equate dressing up in costume to Halloween and thus the anxiety starts cropping up. Now back on topic.

While contemplating why I actually hate halloween, I figured out that it isn’t so much the holiday part as it is the costumes and the dressing up that I hate. That’s when I started remembering being a little kid, and all the repressed memories came back. I always liked the girl costumes so much better than the ones for boys. I didn’t want to be a comic book character or a fucking Ninja Turtle, I hated those things as I child. I didn’t want to watch batman, I wanted an easy bake oven! While my parents (my mom more so than my dad) would have let me dress up as anything I wanted to be for Halloween, I would have been way to self conscious and embarrassed (even as a kid) to dress up as something “socially unacceptable”. So as a young kid I turned my anxiety about myself into a pure hatred of an innocent holiday. I’m basically the Scrooge of Halloween.

Now none of this makes much of a difference. I am still not going to dress up as a Ninja Turtle or a Princess for halloween, and I don’t think anything will change that. But it is nice to have a better understanding of why I feel the way I do. As for this party tonight, I am going as myself, nothing more nothing less, and once I’ve made my appearance I’ll most likely leave because I’ll feel uncomfortable. And if that makes the host mad, oh well. I made it clear before I don’t dress up and I didn’t have to come in the first place.

==========

Completely unrelated to anything else, I’ve lost six pounds in the past two weeks! I am so excited! Visually all this exercise hasn’t made for much of a change really, but I’m glad I have some noticeable results. This will only help fuel the fire. I can’t wait to start feeling even better about myself.

Sometimes…

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

…you just want to rip off all your clothes and jump right in. Or at least that’s how I feel right now. The weather has been much cooler lately so it’s actually enjoyable to be outside. Don’t get me wrong it’s still hot out, but it’s livable. I want to get in the pool so bad but I know the water is cold. Such hard decisions in life!

I feel like I’ve eaten the entire buffet and then some at Golden Corral! I haven’t though; hell I wouldn’t be caught dead at a Golden Corral. We went to Firehouse Subs for lunch today, and to anyone who hasn’t tried it, you are truly missing out. The subs are delicious, and their “medium sub” is more filling without chips than Subway’s six inch meal. It isn’t much more in price either.

Bailey was being extra cute this morning cuddling with Billy. I wish he would do that with me, but I’m not his “mommy”. I do love him though. Him and Loki are my babies. Plum is just Grand-pa kitty since he’s so much older.

Tomorrow I have to call the Postal Service and open a claim since they’ve lost a package. I called last week and they said I had to wait 14 days of the tracking information being outdated before they would do anything (even though on their website it said after 7 postal days). I’m mad, but not overly pissed since the package was free to begin with. It’s my free iPhone case from Apple. Don’t get me wrong I want it, I’m just not as mad as if I had actually paid for it.

There was something it seems that I wanted to mention, but I just can’t remember what it was. Oh well if it comes to me I’ll just do an edit and add it in. Later guys, love ya!

Bugs

Monday, August 30th, 2010

The iPad WordPress app is quite handy (as you’ve undoubtedly noticed I use it quite frequently). Unfortunately it has some bugs in it. The biggest of which for me is that it crashes every time I attempt to add an image to a post. However the iPhone app doesn’t. So usually what happens is I’ll type out a post on my iPad, save it on the server as a draft, and then open it on my phone to insert the image. Can we say pain in the ass? Never the less I still absolutely love my iPad! I really love the wallpaper I have for it (same as my phone). I only wish I could remember where I found it at. Oh well maybe one day I’ll remember.

So far the project with the hinges is progressing. Once we get a system going it will be faster (I hope). Billy bought me a present at Home Depot today, a door stop! I know what you’re thinking but I really did want it. It’s one of the magnetic ones that holds the door open. Now the cats can’t close the door in the bathroom.

We got our hair done this afternoon. Nothing special just a cut and style, but it’s always nice to see John. The other girl was there doing some girls hair and they were having the most awkward and hilarious conversation the entire time. They were making fun of all their old friends from high school and how fucked up they’ve all become. The best part though was when the stylist asked the other girl “Do you remember when I was pregnant in high school and got that abortion?” Such an odd topic to bring up in mixed company.

Anyway our day has been fairly tame today so I don’t have much to report. Billy is playing Grand Theft Auto while the paint on the hinges dries and I took this opportunity to do a short update. See you guys later!

Proud

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

I’m so proud of myself! I’ve been exercising everyday (a combination of treadmill and the bow-flex) and eating a lot better. I’ve learned that you stop eating when you’re full, not when the plate is empty. And if I get the munchies between meals I’ll have a healthy snack instead. Although I must confess I had a Reese’s peanut butter cup (the mini kind) the other day. I felt so guilt after because I had gone so long without chocolate. I won’t let Billy bring soda in the house either, that way I’ll only drink water. He still has his Dr. Pepper & Vanilla Cokes, both of which I wouldn’t touch anyway.

I’ve noticed a few small changes over the past couple weeks of all this exercise and stuff. My pants fit different, they’re a lot tighter in the ass! I can only hope that all this uphill treadmill jogging has started to create an ass back there. Hopefully some visible result will show soon, that’s the motivator. If I can see a difference then hopefully it won’t seem like a chore anymore.

I’m still upset about the whole job thing, but what can I do about it? I’m just going to have to find something else (hopefully).

Last night the kittens were hell-bent on playing with the Roomba. Every time I’d turn around one of them would be on top of it pushing the “clean” button and then attempting to ride it. It started making a funny noise so I flipped it over and pulled a cat toy out of the brushes. I also discovered more parts that come off of it to clean. I didn’t even know the cat hair would get in some of these places. It runs a lot better now though! I can’t wait to get rid of this carpet and have the hard wood floors down. Less mess, and easier on both it and me to clean.

I found a nifty iPad, iPhone, and Mac app that organizes all your bank statements yesterday. I spent a couple of hours typing every thing in and I’m still not done yet. I’m amazed that so far this year I only had two transactions that I couldn’t remember what the were for. One was my Ad Valorem taxes, and the other I still haven’t figured out. It was to some company I don’t remember for $9 on July 28th. Odd that I can’t remember and it wasn’t that long ago.

Speaking of iPhone, I still love my iPhone 4, and my iPad! I’m excited because Deal Extreme finally has knock-off apple docks for both of them now for like $5 each. I bought a knock-off dock for my 3G from them and it worked perfect. Shipping takes a few weeks since it comes from china but it’s well worth it in savings.

While we are on the subject of iPhones still, my “free” case from Apple has gone missing during shipment. It was shipped DHL Global Mail, where DHL ships it to a local post office near you and then you receive it via USPS. Well the last tracking update had it changing hands from DHL to USPS on the other side of Atlanta on August 16th, and it hasn’t been seen again. USPS won’t open a claim until next Wednesday. I could have walked to where it is (or was) and back by now.

Loki has been very sweet lately. Not that he isn’t usually nice, it’s just rare for him to be this lovey. I can’t complain though. Last night Bailey hit a milestone, he laid down in the bed near Andy and even allowed him to pet him. Granted next time they see each other I’m sure he’ll go back to hiding under the bed like always. Oh, and Plum is still alive and kicking. I think having these five foster kittens has given him a reason to live. He doesn’t want them to turn into his replacement.

Well I think I’ve bored y’all enough, have fun and be safe peeps! Oh and follow me on Twitter guys! Hope to tweet you soon!

Shit.

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

I was having a really good day today. Nice workout, good lunch, went for a swim, and then worked on my tan. All in all a pretty good day.

Then this afternoon I get a call from my future employer letting me know that they’ve decided to not hire any more people this year. So they were taking back my job offer. So I just lost a job that I hadn’t even started yet! Fuck Me!!! What has me pissed the most is my very first interview was back in March, and I was offered the job in May. However they push back the start date until September 7th which I wasn’t happy about, but waiting a few months for a good guaranteed job is better than not having one at all. So now I’ve been strung along this long and right before I start they pull the plug. What the fuck am I going to do?

Keep Feeling

Friday, August 6th, 2010

I just saw a commercial on tv for Kingsford Charcoal, and they used a very slowed down version of “(Keep Feeling) Fascination” by the Human League. It was very odd. At first I didn’t recognize the song but I thought it was weird that I knew what words were coming next.

BaileyCouldn’t have a post if I didn’t mention the cats at some point, so here we go. I let them out today because they’ve been locked up in the bedroom all week. I’m sure they’re going stir crazy by now. Bailey is running through the house meowing, which isn’t in the slightest bit odd (sad isn’t it?).

Billy is cooking a nice brunch for us. Pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs OH MY! And while he’s cooking we have the tv show on the Game Show Network watching Match Game ’74. I love watching these old game shows!

Onya is right under the stove waiting for Billy to drop something. I’d laugh if bacon grease landed on her. I know I’m mean but she’s so stupid it’s almost not funny. Wow even Loki is in the kitchen rubbing on the stove. Food must be almost ready so I better sign out.
