Random Realizations

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

I find it ironic and odd that if you line up all the macs in the house that I use by size, the reverse is said for their processing speed. For example, The mac mini is the fastest machine with it’s dual-core intel processor, but its sole job is just being a media center hooked up to the TV. My macbook air is the machine I primarily use, and it’s also a core2-duo intel, just a 1.6ghz processor; it’s main problem isn’t the processor, or the memory, it’s the video card that slows it down. Then there is my big behemoth, my G5 Powermac, which by all instances is a huge machine, and if it weren’t for the aluminum case I’m sure it would take flight when all the fans spool up inside of it. It is my favorite machine, simply because it’s just pretty, unfortunately that comes at a price. It is the slowest machine in the house now. It would run much more smoothly if I upgraded the video card in it, but mac video cards are outrageous, and the last one I put in it (was a rather nice PC-card that had a flashed rom to run on os-x) glitched terribly. I will suffice to say that I am updating my blog from the big behemoth though; it always needs a little love.

That was my random realization for the day.

Oh, and yes I know Billy’s unibody macbook is the fastest machine in the house, but I was making a list of the machines ‘I’ use. So screw your heavy ass unibody macbook with it’s odd black hinge cover. =)

Gameshows

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

So as part of my morning tread-milling I turn on the TV (which is placed right in front of the tread-mill thankfully). Somedays I’ll watch BBC and catch How Clean is Your House? somedays I’ll watch Nickelodeon, and somedays when nothing any better is on, I’ll watch Game-show Network.

This morning was a game-show morning. The $25,000 Pyramid was on, dick clark, contestants, celebrates, yadda-yadda. As you probably already know the contestants switch off with the celebrates on who gives clues to a word and who guesses. Well during this particular round the contestant was giving the clues….

Now mind you, the word trying to be guessed was ‘Mononucleosis.’

The contestant lady gave her clue, “The Kissing-disease”

The celebrity (and damn I wish I knew who it was…) shouts out AIDS!!!

*FAIL!*

OMG It's Stuck!!!

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Don’t you hate it when you have a song stuck in your head? Random I know, but I have this song stuck in my head and I have no clue why. I haven’t heard it in years. I’m not one hundred percent sure I even have it in my itunes library. Hold on, let me check… *checks* Yup; surprisingly I still do. I really doubt many people have ever even heard of this song before; but let me know in the comments. This should be an interesting poll.

Song = Hitman Sammy Sam – “Step Daddy”

Hahaha; its such a dumb song; but quite funny.

Somebody..

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Loki..is the most beautifulest kitty in the whole world! This place is really starting to look more like a shrine to Loki moreso than myself and my photography. Someone messaged me last night and actually made me realize how little time I’ve spent on either side of the camera lately, and how much I miss it. Just because I’m unemployed doesn’t mean I have to sit around the house all day. It’s a “digital” SLR, it doesn’t cost anything to use it.

Not making excuses but the weather hasn’t been the nicest mother nature has thrown our way lately, but I am going to get out and harass me some still-life.

To the Asshole Earlier

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

To this lovely African-American man earlier today driving an ugly mid-nineties gold Pontiac Grand-Prix; thank you for being so impatient in the parking garage at Atlantic Station that you swerved around one car and frantically sped up to attempt running me down in the cross-walk. My only fault Is not getting my flip-flop off in time to beat the side of your shitty car. I sincerely and throughly hope your hoopty bursts into flames on the expressway on your trip home so the rest of the world can laugh at your expense.
